It all began in October 2013, when a brain lesion/tumor was identified via an MRI. I had a car accident after working a very long day, while I was responsible for managing over ~130 customers. The emergency technician informed me with the assumption that the lesion may have caused me to have a seizure while driving. Immediately, I was in shock and I was informed they would need to transport me to a hospital for urgent surgery and have the medical staff remove the tumor, I informed the staff I wasn’t experiencing any symptoms and requested they validate their scans, I was in denial, I was an athletic person, running every day and following a strict pescatarian diet. The Holy Spirit whispered to me to seek another opinion.
Immediately after I left the hospital staff in October, I remembered my mom always instructed me to get a second opinion, especially when the Holy Ghost whispers in your ear. (Something just did not feel right). So, I waited and thankfully my husband worked at Emory and he was able to receive a highly recommendation with a top Neurologists. We met with the neurologist and he confirmed I did have a lesion on my upper right side of my brain. However, he did not foresee the need to rush into surgery. He said we should watch it for a few years and will need to take action if there was a change in the size. He warned, if it did increase in size, that will mean it is active and we will need to remove the lesion to allow the medical team.
