MY FAITH JOURNEY

God said it! I believe it! And that settles it!

My Testimony: God’s promises are true!

I was born in Massachusetts in July. My mom always told me that I was in a rush to get here because she almost delivered me in the hospital elevator. I am the youngest of five girls (Brenda, Janelle, Shirley, and Sondra). When I was in the 7th grade, my father transitioned from this earth to his place in heaven. The result of a colon cancer diagnosis. Prior to my father's transition, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit comforted and sustained me during this time in my life. Some years later, heaven gained an angel in the form of my sister Sondra. Her transition was also the result of a colon cancer diagnosis. She left here praising God and her last words were, ‘I am going home.’

Thus began our family’s walk of faith with GOD. My father and sister's diagnosis and passing was GOD's saving grace for me, as well as my sisters and our children. GOD instructed our family to be proactive in receiving an annual colon cancer screening as a way to guard against future diagnoses. After seeking the expertise of medical professionals, a family cancer gene was discovered. Our faith told us to believe in the name of Jesus Christ and that we and future generations of our family would NOT be harmed by any ‘genetic’ diseases. WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS IN CHRIST JESUS!

My mom (the rock of our family) throughout her life remained true to her faith. She constantly praised and worshiped Our Heavenly Father. She taught us and all our adopted siblings the importance of leaning on Jesus Christ in all circumstances, whether good or bad - Romans 8:37 ‘…in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.’ She also encouraged us to love and encourage those around us - Matthew 7:12 NIV, ‘So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you…’. These are important life lessons that I continue to carry today.

In 2013, I had a car accident that revealed an inactive brain tumor. I was both afraid and in denial. I didn’t want to have an operation on my brain out of fear of what my future would look like. After seeking a second opinion, I was advised by my doctors that yearly MRIs would allow them to monitor its status. If it became active, a procedure would be recommended. I followed the doctor's advice for a couple of years, but soon I lost focus. The results of life’s distractions.

This past June GOD spoke to my spirit and told me now is the time to address this tumor. The COVID-19 pandemic presented me a blessing from GOD in an otherwise trying year for many people. COVID removed all of life's distractions that once consumed my life. It allowed me to slow down and tune into GOD’s voice. I contacted my doctor to schedule the MRI and the results showed the tumor was active and it had increased in size. One thing the doctor found amazing was that I had no side effects related to the tumor. In most cases, people have major side effects that greatly impact their lives. My life was normal and I believe GOD intervened before things got bad.

I had surgery a couple of weeks later. The doctors successfully removed the tumor and my recovery was underway. Through GOD’s grace and mercy, I was on my feet and walking around the hospital the morning after my surgery. The doctors were amazed. For me, it was GOD’s favor on display in my life. Soon after my release from the hospital, I would have a follow up to get the results of the biopsy. Before I received the full diagnosis, GOD told me to focus on Him and not the doctors. I obeyed His command, but my husband heard every word. We never talked about the full details of my diagnosis, only that the doctors said the tumor was cancerous and I required 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation. I held onto my faith. GOD told me what I needed to do; why would He leave me now?

I have a loving husband (Greco) of twenty years and two wonderful children (Nicole and Evan). Through this process, we have grown closer and learned the importance of prayer, meditation, and oneness with GOD. Shortly after being diagnosed, my husband was praying and studying GOD’s word in the early morning hours of July 16th, 2020. GOD spoke into his spirit ‘Anointing and Healing’. GOD told my husband that He would plant a seed of healing in me which would deliver me from my diagnosis and that we were to celebrate my delivery. What a promise and a blessing! July 17th is my birthday, GOD’s timing is impeccable!

Since that time, we have incorporated a lifestyle change where our desire is to chase after GOD. It’s not enough to accept GOD’s blessing and move on with our lives, we have to share those blessings and help others in the process. We prayed and thought about the process GOD was bringing us through. We realized each and every day a number of people were being called to be treated at Winship Cancer Institute where I was treated. The first thing we thought was that the word “treatment” is a worldly, medical term that doesn’t define GOD or His process. So, we characterized the process GOD was bringing me through as “Anointing and Healing” sessions. Next, we began to write down the names we heard each day and we prayed over each and every individual that was written down or that we noticed in the waiting room. We intend to do this until the time GOD tells us otherwise.

Some weeks later, I finished my “Anointing and Healing” sessions and got the results of my first MRI since GOD’s processing and my surgery. Today, I am here to tell you that GOD’s promises are real! For HE is not man and HIS promises are never broken! The MRI results were clear! I thank GOD for His “Anointing and Healing”! Finally, what other way to continue to honor GOD for what He has done in my life and that of my family than to create a platform where I can share my journey. This space will provide visitors a place to receive an inspiring word, a place to submit prayer requests, and create a community of healing through GOD’s word.

Thank you for visiting, I hope that you find this community to be a place of hope and inspiration.
